When was the Marvel Rivals Season 1 release date? The 2025 roadmap for the multiplayer shooter is shaping up in a similar fashion to its competitors, bringing with it plenty of additional content and seasonal updates to keep things fresh.
Season 1 of the multiplayer game is now here, treating us to new Marvel Rivals characters that could very well top the Marvel Rivals tier list. Below you’ll find everything that arrived with Marvel Rivals Season 1 and when it originally launched.
Marvel Rivals Season 1 release date
Marvel Rivals Season 1 began at 1am PST / 4am EST / 9am GMT on Friday, January 10, 2025. NetEase confirmed the time in the Season 1 Eternal Night Falls teaser trailer.
Creative director Guangyun ‘Guangguang’ Chen previously confirmed an “early January 2025” launch window in the ‘Dev Vision Vol. 1’ developer diary.
Each Marvel Rivals season typically lasts three months. Season 0 began when the game was released, but has a much shorter length – a warmup for what was to come in Season 1.
Season 0 was titled Doom’s Rise and kicked off the story of Doctor Doom and his future counterpart from 2099 joining forces to make universes collide in the Timestream Entanglement. This caused all sorts of chaos for our heroes and villains, but they, fortunately, came to an accord and united to save realities across the multiverse.
Marvel Rivals Season 1 content
Marvel Rivals Season 1 shipped with the following content:
- Two new heroes
- Two new purchasable skins
- One new map
- Three new events
Two members of the Fantastic Four, Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman, joined the cast when Marvel Rivals Season 1 launched. The Human Torch and The Thing are slated to arrive later in the season.
Of course, Reed Richards and Susan Storm couldn’t just drop in without appropriate attire. Mister Fantastic’s The Maker and Invisible Woman’s Malice skins arrived alongside them, and are now available in the shop. Both skins are pretty sweet, and have a strong chance of appearing in our best Marvel Rivals skins list.
As Dracula’s forces have descended on the Big Apple, the city has been transformed into a blood moon-soaked nightmare-scape. But hey, look, we get to see both the Baxter Building and Avengers HQ as we blast each other to bits on the fancy new Midtown map.
Finally, there are three new Marvel Rivals events to revel in, with Season 1 following a similar structure to Season 0 – at least at launch. Alongside a refreshed battle pass, there’s a new chapter-based event that gradually unlocks itself over time, and a new split of the Marvel Rivals Championship to get stuck into.
